Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year! The Addams and Upton Art Program is in full swing! Artsonia is a big success! Addams Elementary School has over 5,800 art pieces added to our online gallery.  The funds from Artsonia were used to upgrade the art program. New additions to the classroom include: I-Pad cases, a chrome book, new supplies such as color stix (woodless colored pencils), metallic paints, new glazes, and clay! Also, our School District supplied the art room with four extra iPads for the classroom! The iPads will be used for Stop Motion Videos, Artsonia, and so much more!
 

Art class is divided into 3 parts: art learning, art making, and clean-up/reflection. Please be patient as students have art once a week for 50 minutes and some projects take many class periods to complete. I like to display student artwork throughout the building before sending it home. Displaying projects throughout the school allows students to take pride in their art accomplishments. Also, please remember to send students to school in clothes appropriate for art making. It is important that students feel comfortable working with the art supplies used in the classroom such as glue, clay, plaster, paint, etc.
Your child will be bringing home a permission slip this week for Artsonia.  You may fill out and return the permission slip OR grant permission online by following the directions outlined on the slip. It is my hope to have 100% participation.
