Kindergarten students learned about the direction of a line such as horizontal, vertical, and diagonal lines. Then we focused on the different types of lines such as straight, curvy, zigzag, and invented. We then used three lines to create a landscape. These three lines represent a different area of the landscape: foreground, middle-ground, and background (which gives an illusion of space). Students also worked with oil pastel and learned blending and smudging techniques.
